Welcome to a brief discussion concerning the history of Grace Note tuned windchimes. As is true with many success stories, this has a humble beginning. This one originates in the rural outback of Louisiana. Combining a love of the outdoors, nature, and all things musical, Jeff Kile had an idea. It was a way of combining his love of the outdoors with his passion for music. In the main, windchimes had mostly been relegated to “clackers”, which increased in volume when the winds rose and swirled. Improvements in windchimes had come primarily in the form of their aesthetic appearance.

With tenacity and much trial-and-error, Jeff began experimenting with different methods of wind chime construction. The goal was a way to tune the windchimes with musical precision. Once he stumbled upon the now famous center-pinned suspension method, as the genesis of generating tuned, musical themes, the rest flowed naturally. Grace Note actually refers to an unwritten musical note without notation. With the center-pinned suspension method, Jeff was able to hand tune each chime with exquisite control. With the aid of an income tax refund check, Jeff and his brother founded Grace Note Windchimes. It is worth noting that these chimes are 100% conceived, designed, and manufactured in the United States.
